Mission

“No person prospers solely on their own efforts.  Each of us is, in part, indebted to family, friends, neighbors, or strangers who provided us support when we were vulnerable, encouraged us when we were discouraged, or assisted us when we were in need.

Compelled by this understanding, the Wagner Family Charitable Trust supports the work of organizations dedicated to a variety of charitable works.

Our mission is not to provide direct services to those in need – that is a task best left to professionals who are better educated and prepared than we are for such difficult work.  Likewise, we have no desire to build a new charitable bureaucracy.

Rather, our purpose is to raise a permanent endowment that will support the work of others.  Furthermore, our purpose is to highlight charitable giving as the centerpiece of our lives – refusing to let charitable work become the focus point of the rich, and hoping that people of modest means can find the way to help those less fortunate than ourselves.”
